The Council has already awarded the concessions for sunbeds, pedalos, jet-ski, parasailing and the banana boat for the upcoming season.
This year, dependent on weather of course, concession holders have the possibility to extend the official ‘season’ beyond October 31st, continuing until December 31st. To do this they have to apply to the Council before July 20th and get permission from the Department of Coasts.
There was a total of 25 applications for the 21 available concessions, although two of these concessions will actually fall by the wayside as no-one wanted them. These were El Chucho (50 sunbeds) where a new promenade is being built and Maro (50 sunbeds).
Presumably, based on past experience of building projects, nobody expects El Chucho to be finished by the summer. And who could blame them?
The sunbed concessions awarded are for:
- Burriana – 750
- El Playazo – 150
- Torrecilla – 100
- El Salon – 50
- Balcón de Europa – 50
- Calahonda – 50
