Objections to proposed budget rejected

townhall80The PP Government has rejected objections put forward by the PSOE, IU and the Asociación de Funcionarios Independientes to the proposed budget for next year.

The budget will now be put before the next full plenary session for approval. With the PP having an overall majority, this should be just a mere formality.

The Opposition PSOE pointed out that the budget could be in violation of the Local Finance Law regarding a negative cash balance (€9.8 million) at the end of 2007.

The PP Government also rejected two other motions proposed by the PSOE, these being to reduce municipal and political expenditure and to set up a commission to monitor the funds coming in under the Plan Zapatero.
