New municipal ordinance in Sevilla and fines of up to €750 for rummaging through bins

New municipal ordinances in Sevilla mean that as from Friday October 24th, anyone found rummaging in rubbish containers will face a fine of up to €750.

The previous ordinance covered the manipulation of rubbish in the streets, with fines of up to €300, but the new regulations now cover the interior of rubbish containers.

The new cleaning ordinance also covers the putting of burning cigarette buts in rubbish containers and bins and prohibits the distribution of printed leaflets and publicity to homes or in the street without prior notification to the Municipal Cleaning Department.
