Beach quality flags are flying in Nerja

New lighting for Torrecilla beach

After being first announced in June, the Council has approved a project to improve street lighting at Torrecilla beach, particularly along the promenade.

Burriana and Torrecilla beaches retain Blue Flag status

Burriana and Torrecilla beaches have once again been awarded the Blue Flag by ADEAC, adding to the three other flags already awarded to these beaches: The Q for Quality, the Quality Tourism flag and the ISO 9001.

Tenth year of the beach libraries

The beach libraries – biblioplayas – on Torrecilla and Burriana beaches are now in their tenth year providing books, magazines and newspapers in various languages and even toys for the kids. A valid id of some sort is all you need to take advantage of the libraries which are open continuously from 11:30 to 19:30.

Burriana and Torrecilla retain ‘Q’ flags

Burriana and Torrecilla beaches will once again be flying the ‘Q’ for Quality flags this summer with an awards ceremony planned for June 5th. In total, nine beaches on the Costa del Sol have been awarded ‘Q’ flags based upon criteria such as equipment, cleanliness, safety, lifesaving and information or services that benefit the tourist.

Torrecilla beach was very popular today, as was Calahonda beach and El Chucho, or what’s left of El Chucho at the moment following all the winds and inclement weather.
