A very strange theft in Nerja

A most unusual theft at the weekend in Nerja. as thieves/vandals entered a local property and made away with…..

a horse’s tail and some inedible beans!

Tail theft in Nerja Tail theft in Nerja, after

Before and after photos.

The culprit(s) cut approximately 50 centimetres off the length of the lady’s tail and appear to have known what they were doing as it would be easy to cause physical damage to the animal. They also seem to have chosen their victim carefully, going for one with a mild disposition. Had they attempted the same procedure with the horse in the next box then they would more than likely have had the living cra daylights kicked out of them.

A neighbouring farm was also vandalised and some rather immature and inedible produce was taken, so the culprits obviously know more about horses than they do about food!

This theft of a horse’s tail, although a rare occurrence, is not unique in the annals of local history. There is, apparently, a market for horse hair for use in make-up and artist’s paint brushes, although presumably not as lucrative as the black market in copper cable appears to be judging by the number of thefts recently.

Meanwhile, police are keeping an eye open for anyone with bizarre hair extensions and severe stomach cramps.
