Friday April 4th sees the draw for the 13 VPO (Council) houses to be built in La Noria, Nerja. The draw will take place at 12:00 in the Enrique Lopez Cuenca Sports Stadium.

Present for the draw will be an official notary, Leopoldo López, the mayor of Nerja José Alberto Armijo, a representative form EMPROVIMA, the promoters of the housing project, and a representative from the Junta de Andalucía.

There are 807 applicants for the 13 houses and the lucky winners will be getting a bargain when one considers the housing market at the moment. Twelve of the houses are up for grabs by residents of the municipality and one has been reserved for a non-resident. There will be two ballot boxes, one containing the names of the 600 residents who applied for 12 of the houses and another containing the names of the 200 non-residents who applied for the single house. In addition to the drawing of the ‘lucky winners’, a further 15 names will be drawn as ‘reserves’.
