A search has been going on in Canillas de Aceituno for a 16 year old boy who disappeared on Monday after telling people he was going to visit his grandfather in the countryside.
The boy, the son of the ex-mayor of Canillas de Aceituno, Manuel Marín Cubo, returned home from the instituto Alta Axarquía in Periana and, as he always did after lunch, set off to visit his grandfather. However, he apparently told a friend that he would not be at school the following morning, Tuesday, as he was going to the doctor’s, something which wasn’t actually true.
Helicopters joined in the search of the area but so far there has been no trace of the boy.
