A Nerja man has been sentenced to 14 years and 3 months in prison for the repeated rape of his daughter.
The provincial court in Málaga found the man guilty of the repeated rape of his daughter in 2002 when she was just fourteen years old. The court heard how the man had abused his daughter two or three times a week during the summer of 2002 both in the family home in Nerja and in their cortijo in Torrox.
The abuse only came to light when the parents of the girl decided to separate. The girl, now 20 years old, had not told her mother what had happened because she didn’t want to upset her and because her father had also threatened her if she did say anything.
The court has also awarded compensation to the victim, who needed psychiatric help after the incident, of €60,000 and banned the father from contacting her for five years.
