Sevilla won their local derby with Betis 2-0 but failed to get a Champions League place, the fourth spot going to Athletic Madrid.
Athletic Madrid could only manage a 0-0 draw against Racing Santander, but it was enough to ensure them a place in the Champions League next season.
Champions Real Madrid were held to a 2-2 draw at Zaragoza whilst Barcelona suffered another bad result as they lost 2-3 to Mallorca, the winning goal for the visitors coming right at the very end of the match. Villarreal consolidated their second place in La Liga with a 2-o victory over Espanyol.
In the Primera Andaluza Grupo 3, the local lads, C.D. Nerja, got rather hammered on their trip to Alcala C.F. And they lost the match, too. The score was 5-0.
Leaders Estepona also got five, against Torre del Mar, and remain one point ahead of long time leaders CD Ronda who were 4-1 victors over Mijas.
