The appearance of a huge red slick yesterday afternoon forced the authorities to close a section of the La Antilla beach in Lepe, Huelva.
The four metre wide, 800 metre long red slick appeared close to the beach at around 13:00 and the authorities marked the area with buoys and stopped bathing in that section while technicians try to discover exactly what it is. It could possibly be a biological phenomenon but no-one is quite sure yet.
