The strike by lorry drivers, which is set to continue, has brought to a halt around 80% of building works in Málaga province.
The construction industry has been hit very hard by the strike by lorry drivers and, if there is no agreement reached in the dispute, lay-offs could begin on Monday. Up to 40,000 workers, that’s half of the labour force, could have their work contracts temporarily suspended.
Work on the new metro line in Málaga city is at a virtual standstill and it is much the same regarding the various road improvement schemes in the city.
