Another official has been detained as part of ‘Operation Astapa’ in Estepona bringing the total number arrested to twenty-six.
Twenty-six people have now been detained in connection with corruption in Estepona and the judge in charge of the case has begun hearing declarations from the accused. Nine people have so far been granted bail in amounts ranging up to €500,000.
At the moment, the government has said that it has no plans to dissolve the Council in Estepona as happened in Marbella.
