A total of 179 illegal immigrants arrived in Tenerife yesterday after their boat was intercepted by the Salvamento Marítimo.
The boat carrying the 179 illegal immigrants was spotted yesterday morning about eight miles off Punta Salinas. All on board were male, although it is thought that as many as 25 could be minors.
The boat was taken to Los Cristianos where the Red Cross were on hand to offer assistance and assess the health of the passengers.
