Today sees the start of mid-afternoon rubbish collection in several of the main streets in Nerja.
Non-organic waste – paper, cardboard and plastics – will be collected between 14:00 and 15:00 in calles Diputación, Carmen, Puerta del Mar, Pintada, Cruz and Angustias as part of the Council’s ‘image’ policy.
Such collections will continue, Monday to Friday, until September 12th 2008.
The idea is for businesses to put their non-organic rubbish out at the close of morning business, generally 14:00, and for it to be collected during the ‘siesta’ period, thus preventing the streets from becoming an unsightly mess for visitors to the town.
