According to Nerja Council, the final touches are now being made to phase one of the works in calle Carabeo.
The improvement works in calle Carabeo have been scheduled in four phases, the idea being to avoid disruption during the main holiday periods. The whole project is set to cost €1.2 million and is being financed by the Central Government (50%), the Provincial Council (30%) and the Municipal Council (20%).
Phase one, almost complete now, covers a 300 metre stretch of calle Carabeo. It was actually scheduled to be completed by Easter!
The whole project is now not expected to be finished until 2010…..at the earliest!
