Busted

Guardia Civil officers in Nerja arrested a local foreign resident who was carrying 14 grams of cocaine and a load of hashish.

The arrest took place in Tutti Frutti square, or started there. The man, a 28 year old foreign resident with the initials L.J.P., was stopped in Tutti Frutti square but fiercely resisted arrest, managing to flee and remain at large for about an hour. He was eventually apprehended on Playazo beach.

At his home, police officers found all the paraphernalia for weighing and preparing the cocaine for sale.

L.J.P., who is well known to the police, appeared in court in Torrox charged with a crime against the public health and possession of a prohibited narcotic. He was released pending trial with the obligation to present himself at the local police station on a regular basis.

In view of his prior record for similar offences, it is possible that the court may order his detention in prison at some later date.
