It would appear that the Health Department of the Junta de Andalucía is to assume the full financing of the proposed new Health Centre in Nerja.
The mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, and Councillor José Miguel García met with the Provincial Health Officer, María Antigua Escalera, to discuss the project.
The Council has maintained that the project should be the responsiblity of the Health Department of the Junta de Andalucía, rather than a fifty-fifty collaboration as previously agreed, and it looks now as if this will be the case.
The project has been ‘in the planning’ and ‘talked about’ for several years now, but whether Nerja is actually any nearer to seeing a physical ‘building’ is open to debate.
