A boat carrying 60 illegal immigrants has been intercepted off the Tenerife coast. Up to seven of those on board, all sub-Saharans, are thought to be minors.
The dugout was spotted this morning around 08:00 near El Camisón beach in Arona and was then towed to the port of Los Cristianos.
After being checked over by the Red Cross and the Canary Islands Emergency Department, five of the passengers were transferred to hospital. The remainder are now in the capable hands of the National Police.
