A new school year is just around the corner and textbooks are going to cost, on average, 3.8% more than they did last year. Nationwide, the average cost of books per pupil will be €115, although this does vary from region to region.
In Andalucía, one of the regions where the textbooks are cheapest, the average cost will be €89. On the other hand, it will cost families in Madrid an average of €148 per child.
The editors of the books stress that the 3.8% increase is well below the CPI, which was 5.3% in July.
