Ten people have been arrested in Galicia in connection with the sale of contaminated scallops.
The detainees include well-known restaurant owners and fish sellers and they have been charged with crimes against the public health. They are accused of involvement in the poaching and subsequent sale of scallops which could be contaminated with a toxin whose side effects include loss of memory.
Further arrests are not being ruled out.
