Three new projects planned for the N-340

The Councillor for Infrastructure, José Alberto Tomé Rivas, has announced the details for three projects relating to the old N-340 coastal road, now under the control of the local authority.

1. Paving of the northern side of the road between the roundabouts of Capistrano and Fuente de Baden and improvements to the north-eastern exit from Capistrano Oasis. The budget for this project is €315,185.60.

2. Linking the service road to the Sports Centre to the N-340, introduction of stopping areas on the barranco de la Coladilla and improvements to the street lighting between the Burriana roundabout and Fuente del Baden. The budget for this project is €276,443.18.

3. Improvements to the Frigiliana and Rapto de Europa (western end coming from Torrox) roundabouts, improved pedestrian facilities at the Frigiliana and Plaza Cantarero roundabouts and improvements to the street lighting near the Plaza Cantarero and Parador roundabouts. The budget for this project is €345,277.99.

All three projects are scheduled to begin in October and completion is expected by next summer! These works are in addition to the installing of two new roundabouts at Punta Lara and Maro and all are being financed by the Ministry of Public Works as part of a €1.5 funding agreement relating to the transfer of control of the old N-340 coastal road to the municipal authorities.
