The Councillor for Ferias, José Miguel García Jimena, has been presenting the winner of the poster cpmpetition and announcing some of the acts who will be participating in this year.
The winning poster, entitled ‘La gitana de los arcos’ (The Gypsy of the arches’), is the work of Antonio Millón Peñuelas.
The feria, in honour of the Patron Saints, la Virgen de las Angustias and San Miguel Arcángel, takes place from October 8th to October 12th.
The opening speech on Wednesday October 8th will be by Carlos Campos, a local Nerjeño with a long association with the event. In the evening it will be ‘La Noche del Cante’ with performances by El Arcángel and the flamenco group La Lupi.
October 9th sees the election of the Feria Queen and Feria Knight.
October 10th sees a performance by the legendary Andalucían rock band ‘Triana’.
October 11th sees a performance by the much acclaimed singer Sergio Contreras.
October 12th is the debut solo concert by Antonio Cortés.
