Big bang alarms Málagueños

The Emergency Services received 190 calls within a few minutes last night as what sounded like an explosion was heard in places as far apart as Torrox and Fuengirola along the coast and from Álora to Alhaurin de la Torre inland.

An hour later, the Ministry of Defense admitted that one, maybe two, Eurofighters had exceeded the sound barrier as they flew over Málaga. The wet conditions made the sound more intense than it normally would be.

The fighters were from the airbase in Morón de la Frontera, Sevilla, and were flying at 37,000 feet as they passed over the Málaga metroplitan area, above the 35,000 feet limit set by AENA.
