Guardia Civil officers have arrested a 41 year old Colombian man who had almost a kilo of cocaine in his vehicle.
The Guardia Civil were carrying out routine checks on the A-8008 in the municipality of La Rinconada when an approaching vehicle abruptly changed direction. They followed the vehicle and stopped it on the outskirts of San José de La Rinconada.
The officers noticed a ‘suspicious’ bag in the vehicle and discovered €3,875 in cash. Further investigation led to the discovery of a package hidden under the driver’s seat which contained almost one kilo of cocaine.
The driver has been charged with a crime against the public health.
