Around 300 people in Andalucía are undergoing some sort of therapy relating to compulsive gambling, mainly with slot machines but also, more and more, with new technologies.
The Junta de Andalucía has launched a campaign aimed at families so that the problem can be detected before the compulsion becomes pathological.
The profile of the average pathological player is male, aged 37 years, gainfully employed and earning between €700 and €1,500 per month.
