The Málaga Provincial Council has agreed to accept the plot of land ceded by the Nerja Council for the construction of the new Fire Station.
The 3,625 square metre plot in near the roundabout to the A-7 on the way to Frigiliana. However (there’s always one of those), work cannot begin right away. The land is classified as ‘rustic’ and Málaga Council now has to try and sort out a change of status with the Junta de Andalucía.
The current hope is that the €900,000 project will be put out to tender during the first quarter of 2009 and then, if all goes to plan and deadlines are met (rofl), it could be operational by the end of 2009 or the beginning of 2010.
