Two doctors at the Health Centre in Almuñecar were injured last night after a 19 year old patient launched an unprovoked attack.
The youth was attending the Health Centre with his parents when, apparently for no reason at all, began attacking not only the staff at the centre but also his own father.
The medical staff left the premises until the youth had been subdued by Guardia Civil officers. He was then transferred to the hospital Santa Ana in Motril where the National Police have taken over the case.
This is the second incidence of violence at the Almuñecar Health Centre within a few days. On Tuesday, a driver/watchman was assaulted by a patient. Must be something in the air.
