A fire on the El Vadillo industrial estate in Motril has completely destroyed one warehouse and, at one stage, threatened nearby shops.
The fire began at around 03:30 this morning in the warehouse belonging to the toy manufacturer Morón. Firefighters, alerted by the Local Police, were quickly on the scene but the warehouse was already virtually burned to the ground. Neighbouring premises were doused with water to prevent the flames from spreading.
The fire was eventually brought under control at around 05:00 and work began to actually extinguish the blaze.
