Nine arrested in connection with Costa del Sol robberies

Nine people have been arrested, eight in Málaga and one in Granada, in connection with a series of robberies on the Costa del Sol.

The gang, mostly Rumanian, are known to have carried out at least twelve robberies in Benalmádena, Fuengirola and Mijas.

A police investigation began in October after the Rumanian Embassy alerted the Spanish police to the fact that a criminal group, of Rumanian origin, was in the area.

Following the arrests, police searches of houses in Málaga, Granada, Torremolinos and Torrox resulted in the seizure of televisions, computers, video cameras, cameras, jewelry, a simulated assault rifle,  shotgun cartridges, knives, tools, mobile phones, a vehicle, handcuffs and various other objects.
