At around 07:15 on Sunday morning, the National Police in Jaén received a call to say that there was a corpse in the doorway of a house in Paseo de la Estación.
Upon arrival at the scene, the police found the body of an eighty year old woman who had suffered several stab wounds.
A police investigation into the incident is underway.
