Pigeon moussaka?

An Australian traveler returning home was detained at customs after officers discovered two eggs concealed in a vitamin jar.

A further search revealed he had two pigeons and an undeclared aubergine down his trousers! The pigeons were wrapped in padded envelopes and held to his legs by a pair of tights.

Australia has some of the strictest quarantine regulations in the world and infringements can lead to a maximum of ten years in jail and a fine of up to $110,000.

The pigeons were apparently nothing special, just ordinary pigeons, and the customs officers were baffled as to why anyone would want to smuggle them into the country. And as for the aubergine….
