Busy weekend expected at the Granada ski resort

The Sierra Nevada ski resort in Granada is predicting an avalanche at the weekend, although not of snow but of visitors.

In order to avoid problems of congestion in and around the resort, the operators CETURSA will be putting on a free bus service for skiers to take them up to the resort. This free service will be in operation from 08:00 on Saturday and will continue throughout Sunday.

Parking charges have been set at €6 and for people who are just visiting the resort, not intending to hurl themselves down slopes on one or two planks, the entry cost will be €8.50.

If the weekend is a success, CETURSA are considering extending the free bus services etc to the remaining weekends of the ski season.
