Restaurants, Burriana and the smelly bit…

burrianahill2A bit cloudy today, but not bad. Long walk time, virtually from Torrecilla to Burriana – and back, ‘cardiac hill’ and all, catch up with what is going on all over the place.

No less than four timeshare scratchcard/survey merchants on the Balcón de Europa today, hasn’t been that many for years!

Still very smelly down calle Carabeo with the road works, a bit less than last week but still pretty awful. Pedestrians are being re-routed via the alleyway and through the car park although there is a narrow walkway for residents of that stretch.

Beep, the large computer shop opposite ferreteria Martín on the corner of calle Cristo and calle Alejandro Bueno, has moved to smaller premises further up calle Cristo, number 60.

Here’s the new temporary fire station at the Burriana roundabout. The Fire Brigade could end up here for quite a while as work hasn’t started yet on the new Fire Park as it is being called.

restauranteburriana1Restaurante Burriana, formerly La Parra, on calle Filipinas is open again on February 25th. Flamenco music three nights a week.

The restaurant reverted back to the original owner, Spanish, after the Lawrence and Gordon **!!** Ramsay era.

birraBirra’s on Burriana beach is in the throes of renovation, as is Bitter ‘n’ Twisted, Good a time as any and ensures everything is ready for the new season.

Fairly quiet on the ‘second line’, as one would probably expect, but the Spanish restaurants along the promenade/beachfront were doing alright.

ayonerjafeb16For a cloudy day, there were a resonable number of people on the beach itself, probably 50 or so in total, and whatever people say about Ayo’s, and opinions do vary dramatically, he still always packs them in, even at this time of year!

La Barca was also doing a good trade, as was José Cruz.
