Rafael Nadal was an easy 6-1 6-0 6-2 winner over Janko Tipsarevic as Spain took a 2-1 lead in their weather delayed tie against Serbia.
David Ferrer had a superb 6-3 6-3 7-6 (7-4) win over world number three Novak Djokovic but the Serbians pulled a point back with victory in the doubles, Viktor Troicki and Nenad Zimjic overcoming Feliciano Lopez and Tommy Robredo 7-6 (7-5) 6-4 7-6 (9-7).
