Police break up prostitution network

Seven people have been arrested after an investigation into a prostitution ring in Sevilla involving transsexuals.

‘Operación Torneo’ began after one of the transsexuals, a South American, filed a complaint relating to aggression and coercion used against him to force him into prostitution.

The police raided two houses in Sevilla, in calle Torneo and in Cristo de la Sed, and one in Huelva, in calle Los Mozárabes, where they found a number of transsexuals from Brazil, Colombia and the Dominican Republic being forced to work as prostitutes.

The leaders of the prostitution network, all of whom have been detained, would take up to 50% of the money earned by the transsexuals. The network had set up a website to offer the services of their ‘workers’.
