The girlfriend of the youth accused of murdering teenager Marta del Castillo has been in court and has confirmed that the accused, Miguel Carcaño, confessed his involvement to her the following morning.
The girl, 14 year old Rocio, has now stated that they were watching TV reports about the disappearance of Marta del Castillo when Miguel admitted to killing her and disposing of the body, with the help of friends, in the Rio Guadalquivir.
This latest statement by Rocio contradicts her earlier statements. Upon being asked by the judge why she had now decided to tell the truth, she replied that she could no longer live with the strain of lying about the events.
