Following yet another change of story by the self-confessed killer of Marta del Castillo, the lawyer representing Miguel Carcaño has withdrawn from the case. Carcaño will now have to find another legal representative or one will be appointed by the court.
In the latest version of events, Miguel Carcaño stated that he and 15 year old Javier, ‘El Cuco’, were under the influence of drugs and attempted to sexually abuse Marta del Castillo, threatening her with a knife if she resisted. The knife has been found in a gutter at the house and is currently being tested by forensics experts.
Carcaño further stated that, although he hit her with an ashtray, it did not kill her. Instead, she was strangled by Javier.
This latest statement exonerates one of the detainees, 19 year old Samuel B.P. of any involvement in the crime, either on the day itself or in the days that followed.
