A man in La Herradura committed suicide on Thursday evening after earlier setting fire to his wife.
At around 17:30, the man went to the Town Hall where the woman was working as a cleaner and beat her before dousing her in petrol and setting her alight. She was taken to the Hospital Santa Ana in Motril.
The man then went back to his home, started a fire nearby to attract attention and then went inside and hanged himself. Police found him at around 19:30 in the evening.
