Holiday traffic

Early weekend traffic problems seem to have eased after initial delays and congestion caused by the start of the summer holiday season.

The early problems, as millions take to the roads, were primarily in Andalucía, Alicante, Cataluña and Madrid.

In Andulucía, there was an eight kilometre tailback on the A-483 in Almonte (Huelva) in the direction of Matalascañas, five kilometres of slow moving traffic on the A-4 in Puerto Real heading towards San Fernando, a five kilometre queue in Málaga in the direction of Cádiz and hold-ups on the N-340 coastal road in the towns of Torrenueva, Almuñecar and Salobreña.
