A 58 year old man was arrested in Granada yesterday after he chased a woman down the street. He was armed with a hatchet and a large, 16 centimetre blade knife at the time.
Police were called after the man was spotted, brandishing the hatchet and knife, chasing a woman down calle Colcha. He was eventually apprehended in calle Elvira.
The incident is not being classified as gender or domestic violence as the two people involved were not linked by either family or emotional ties. It is thought the cause of the incident was a past economic issue relating to a time when the woman, aged 37 years, was in a relationship with the man’s nephew.
