After an absence of three years, the prestigious ‘blue flag’ once again flutters in the breeze above Ferrara Playa in Torrox.
The Blue Flag is awarded by the Asociación de Educación Ambiental y del Consumidor (ADEAC) to beaches meeting strict quality criteria.
The flag was raised by the Councilor for Beaches, José Pérez, at a ceremony also attended by the Mayor, Toñi Claros, the Councilor for Culture, Teodoro Ruiz, and the new Councilor responsible for Protección Civil, Manuel Martín.
Torrox is one of several municipalities opting to use Protección Civil volunteers to monitor the beaches.
