National Court judge Fernando Grande-Marlaska has charged a senior Guardia Civil commander with money laundering and involvement in drug trafficking.
Juan Miguel Castañeda, head of the Guardia Civil in Guadalajara, has been charged with a number of crimes relating to a network involved in money laundering and drug trafficking. Amongst others, he is charged with bribery, conspiracy, forgery and money laundering.
After a court appearance to give evidence, the commander was released.
