A new fire has started in the Sierra de Cabrera, Almería, and 1,500 people have been evacuated from their homes around Turre and Mojácar.
The area was the scene of a devastating fire last week in which 4,000 hectares of land was destroyed. Over 300 personnel are involved in fighting the fire and at first light this morning, they were joined by a total of 17 aircraft.
Despite the severity of the fires, no injuries have so far been reported. There are apparently early indications that the fires were started deliberately.
