The Blue and Whites traveled to Goodison Park for a pre-season friendly against last season’s FA Cup finalists Everton.
Louis Saha opened the scoring for Everton after only 14 minutes, slamming home a shot from eight yards after the goalkeeper, Gustavo Manua, flapped wildly at an incoming cross.
Four minutes later, Leon Osman made it 2-0 and Everton looked to be coasting and on their way to only their second win in six pre-season matches.
Three minutes into the second half, Jose Juan Luque drilled home a magnificent 30 yard free kick to pull one back for Málaga and it was ‘game on’. However, there were no further goals and it ended up 2-1 in favour of Everton.
