Indefinite strike at Las Dunas Hotel in Estepona

Workers at the luxury five star Las Dunas Hotel in Estepona have started an indefinite strike as a result of unpaid wages.

The hotel is owned by Ernest Malyshev, the former owner of the troubled Hotel Los Monteros. Around 120 workers are affected by the strike which relates to three months of unpaid wages.

Workers also complain about a lack of any sort of business plan to increase the business of the luxury hotel, pointing out that in the peak times this summer, occupancy was very low, only five rooms occupied.

Both the Unions and the Works Council believe that the dignified solution for the hotel would be for it to be sold.
