Police in Utrera have arrested a 67 year old man who was in possession of a number of illegal weapons, including machine guns, a mortar and an anti-aircraft projectile.
Investigating a presumed robbery in the area, police discovered a number of military weapons hidden in a warehouse owned by 67 year old G.B.C. The weapons included tripod mounted machine guns and a mortar.
As the man had no weapons licences or collectors book, due to the fact that these were revoked some years earlier on the grounds of mistreatment within the family, the police requested warrants to search two houses owned by G.B.C.
A search revealed yet more weapons, including shotguns, rifles and pistols, and a large quantity of ammunition.
