Bus strike in Jerez

More than 225 workers Cojetusa, the licensee of urban transport in Jerez, have begun a strike which could continue for the rest of the week if their demands for payment of wages arrears are not met.

There will only be a city bus circulating in Jerez if the strike continues and this will affect many people getting to work, school or to the university.

The workers claim they are owed €345,000 in wages for September and October. Cojetusa claim they are unable to pay the wages because of money they themselves are owe by the local Council. The Council wants to negotiate for another company to run the bus service, Linesur being the front runner.
