Barca drop a point, Real don’t

Barcelona ended up drawing 1-1 with Osasuna after a dreadful bit of defending allowed the home team to grab an injury time equaliser.

Barcelona took the lead midway through the second half with a goal from Mali striker Seydou Keita and, despite not playing particularly well throughout, the La Liga leaders looked like they might hang on for a win. But it was not to be.

In injury time, slack marking by Rafael Marquez allowed Javier Camunas to get in a shot which Gerard Pique kindly guided past his own keeper.

Real Madrid moved to within one point of the leaders after a comfortable 2-0 win against Getafe, a welcome relief after their 4-0 drubbing by minnows of Alcorcon in the Copa del Rey earlier in the week.

Gonzalo Higuain scored both of Real’s goals.

Sevilla remain in third place in La Liga after a 0-2 win away to Xerez, Negredo and Fabiano getting the goals.
