Eleven women have so far lost their lives in Andalucia this year as a result of domestic violence.
All but one of the cases has involved Spanish nationals and surprisingly, in only one case had there been a denuncia for abuse made.
November 25th is International Day Against Violence Against Women and once again there will be an attempt to persuade people to close the door on violence. The government spent €27.9 million in its fight against violence to women and plans to spend another €17 million in 2010, with €6 million being specifically allocated for care and protection.
