The Department of Public Works and Transport of the Junta de Andalucía has today opened the first 14 kilometres of the A-357 between Campillos and the junction with the A-367 in the direction of Ronda.
The opening of this stretch means no more detour through Teba.
The road was closed as part of the road strengthening project on the 25 kilometre section linking Campillos with Málaga Guadalhorce valley. The works are continuing but it will not be necessary to completely close the road again.
The project is costing €11.1 million and has generated 195 jobs in the area. Work has also been completed on a 5.5 kilometre stretch of the A-367 between Ardales and Ronda.
